Cost for hair transplant is not a fixed rate, but it depends on the amount of hair follicles that are transplanted. For non-invasive method, cost per amount of graft is generally determined. Compared to the invasive method, the non-invasive method takes double the amount of time with different skill sets. Even with the same amount of graft, surgical cost may differ depending on the doctor’s skill and experience and the surgery method.

Surgery

While incision surgery time is relatively short, non-invasive hair transplant surgery takes longer time. Usually at Moarm, average non-invasive hair transplant surgery time is about 7-8 hours. This time is relative to the amount of hair follicles transplanted. Maximum amount of hair follicle that can be grafted per day is 2000-3000 graft.
For a hair transplant surgery, most surgery methods lie down on the bed for the harvesting and transplanting procedure. However, this can create a lot of facial swelling after the surgery. Also, simultaneous graft - transplant process is much slower if the patient lies down on the bed during the surgery.

Local anesthesia is used for the surgeries. There is slight pain and stiffness when local anesthesia is injected to the area. However, when the anesthesia is done in the area, it is not painful during the surgery. Anesthesia is kept well throughout the surgery and even without the anesthesia, the pain level is very low.

Non-invasive hair transplant is usually done with local anesthesia and does not have major side effects. The sensitivity around the surgery area may feel stiff during the recovery period. This numbness usually comes back within a few months gradually.

Modern hair transplant surgery is an autologous tissue surgery, transplanting your own hair. If you use someone else’s hair to transplant, your body will think of the other person’s hair as “foreign material” and will have higher possibilities of infections and side effects. For a safe surgery result, using your own hair is recommended in this era.

Scar tissue may form from scalp burn, incision, or other accidents. When scar tissues form on the scalp area, hair may not grow. Scar tissues are different from normal skin as the blood circulation is low, the survival rate is lower than normal tissue. However, it is still possible to transplant on the scar tissue and have good surgery results to have a natural style.
Recovery

A minimum of 2 days of vacation days is recommended to have hair transplant surgery. Usually 1-2 days of doctor’s check up is recommended for a good recovery period.

Results of hair transplant is slightly different from other plastic surgeries. Usually the transplanted hair is loss within one month after the surgery and for about 3 months, transplanted hair is not visible. After 3-4 months after the surgery, the transplanted hair grows slowly in thin layers. Newly transplanted hair becomes thicker as time goes. In order to see the result, it will take about 6-7 months to see the approximate shape and for a final result, you will be able to see in 10-12 months. Within a year, you will be able to style your hair naturally.

As non invasive surgery method only leaves a minimal scar from the harvested area, you can wash your hair starting the next day. Washing hair does not create any major problems but you may feel a slight pain if it touches water. As transplanted hair follicles need 2-3 days to position itself, you must be careful when washing the transplanted area.

In order for the grafted follicles to position itself, it usually takes around 7-10 days. For this time period, it is necessary to be careful in the area. After hair transplant surgery, any drinking, smoking, or excessive physical activities are limited. Also, please do not perm or color the hair for at least 1 month after the surgery.

1) 2-3 days post op is a period where transplanted hair gets fixed. If any damage is applied to the transplanted area and cause bleeding, transplanted hair may get lost. It is important not to bump nor scratch the area.
2) Maximum of 2 weeks post op is a period of survival rate determination. It is best to avoid excessive work out, drinking, and smoking activities. When washing your hair, do not scratch but use the bubble foam and tap on top the transplanted area. When drying your hair, dry with cold air with 30cm distance. Non-invasive hair transplant surgery does not need to take any stitches out, which makes it possible to get back to normal life.
3) After 3-4 weeks, there’s no limit in terms of normal activities.
Hair Loss

For female hair loss, there may be internal causes such as thyroid, anemia, hormone imbalance. If this cause can be treated, hair loss can be treated by treating the internal cause of hair loss. There also may be hair loss after extreme diet or giving birth, and if the cause of hair loss is treated well, hair transplant may not be necessary.

There is no such perfect method to prevent hair loss. However, a general way to prevent hair are below :
1) Keep low stress level to have a healthy immune system
2) Consume nutritious meal
3) Sleep regularly well
4) Keep scalp and hair clean
5) Prevent from using excess hair products
6) Receive treatment from early stage of hair loss

For hair transplant, not only doctor’s experience is important but also the surgery team’s experience is important as well.
